Seeing the Unseen is an
educational multimedia CD-ROM, produced at MIT's Center for
Educational Computing Initiatives, about the work and life of
Dr. Harold Edgerton, who developed several groundbreaking
techniques for increasing man's ability to observe phenomena
outside the normal parameters of our senses. Many are familiar
with Dr. Edgerton's high-speed stroboscopic photographs of
splashing drops of milk, bullets slicing through apples, and
balloons in mid-burst, but Edgerton also developed sonar
technology, tools for underwater photography, systems for
observing the first tests of the atomic bomb, and techniques
for photographing heat in air. Capsule provided all video
digitization, non-linear editing, and post-production services
for this project.
