Speedle is an experiment in information sharing through online word of mouth. If you have a Web site, you can add the free Speedle tool set to your site's pages, allowing your visitors to e-mail a link to the page, save the page in a list of favorites, rate the page, or view the most popular pages from your site. Anyone can also download the free Speedle browser button, which allows you to send a link to a Web page and have that link appear on the Speedle Charts. The Speedle Charts keep track of the links that are most often e-mailed, for the past hour, the past day, and the past week.

Anyone can also create a free member page on Speedle.com, with a list of links you've recently sent and other information you'd like to share about yourself. The more people using Speedle, the more it becomes a vox populi, a way of finding out what people really find interesting on the Web, unencumbered by any marketing deals or partnerships of mega-corporations.
